Im probably not the only one to have had problems with B&Q but i just dont know what to do next.
I purchased my kitchen in march and im still waiting for pieces
First of all it arrived all damaged & broken and with pieces missing & the wrong pieces
I have been promised over & over again that i will have them now i have been told that thursday week i should have the rest.
Lots has happened with them in between which would take too long to go into.
they have promised me compensation when the kitchen is in and im pleased with it.
The kitchen cost €4500 and i have paid approx €1900 in expenses to carpenter installing kitchen for wasted time, B&B for my new husbands parents to stay in because his father in wheelchair and could not stay in house when the place up in heap was promised i would have had it before they came from england to visit
Phone expenses, travel expenses (travelled over hour to go to b&q to try to sort this out lots of times), calls to b&q england
If i am not happy with what they offer me should i go to a solicitor and what should i look for its nearly seven months now and the customer service and the way i have been treated in just awful.
What sort of compensation? Did they put this in writing? If not then I wouldn't bank on it.

I'm not sure that some of these expenses are really relevant to this situation or the responsibility of B&Q to be honest. Did B&Q arrange the fitter?

i paid in full on the day i purchased it. B&Q did not fit it ...i had to pay for a carpenter to come out and he was paid for work he could not do because he had to go through over 100 items to see what was damaged & what pieces were missing.
then he was paid a second time to come out to find that the pieces that were reshipped were wrong again.
there has to be some comeback for B&Q they just cannot get away with not supplying what i paid for and im still waiting
I am nearly sure that B+Q in Newry promise to install and fit all kitchens bought from them. also remove the old kitchen for a fee. Did you know that you had to fit the kitchen yourself? Did a B&Q staff member call to you house and measure up and agree with you what exactly you were getting? My understanding of B&Q is that everything ( and I mean everything ) is extra, over the base price quoted. If they measured up, gave you a quote for the parts to be supplied and then supplied incorrect of ill fitting or even broken parts then I would think you have a valid claim. hope all works out for you.

Are you looking for B & Q to pay for the accommodation for your inlaws? I mean was the sitting room, bedroom, dining room etc in a "heap" as well?
Sounds like you need to talk to the office of the director of consumer affairs...very poor on the part of B & Q. I would not be prepared to be as patient as you are.
