I am traveling by car to France in a few weeks for about 2 months. Reviewing my documentation I see that Aviva insurance covers 31 days. Is there a way to extend this? I haven't found in their website.
It's been a while since I contacted Aviva about driving in Europe but as far as I remember they cover up to three months free of charge
And you car get up to six but will have to pay for the final three months, I used to pay about €90 for those three extra months
As far as I can remember you'll have to phone them anyhow to inform them of your trip and to organise the green card for your car,
So ask them then about extending the cover beyond the 31 days, I wouldn't think things have changed since I did it a couple of years ago
We agreed a work around years ago with our insurance company.
Their initial suggestion was to drive back to Ireland, €1k approx on the ferry, and return to France. thereby making it 2 trips each 30 days .
Or pay an extra €200 in premiums.
Then they realised our insurance ended half way through our trip so 30 days in each insurance period. Their suggestion, in writing, we kept that email.
