AVG Version 7.5 Virus Database update issue

I use AVG Version 7.5 and find it excellent. However lately I've been receiving warnings that the internal virus database is out of date. These warnings come via AVG and Windows Security Centre. AVG automatically updates when I turn on my comptuter and says that I've already updated and there are no further updates if I try and do it manually. I can turn off this warning but is that dangerous? Any help greatly appreciated...

This may not be the solution but this happened to my brothers pc when he called me out to fix the AVG - and the solution was that the system date on the computer had been changed to an old date in error - so while avg was up to date it presumed it must be out of date due to the system date...if you follow...

Fair play to you Podge...that's exactly what it was. AVG is working fine now but I've no idea how the system date changed (it was 17th January 2008?!) Thanks again
