I Currently pay into a Company ( place of work ) run pension fund. In addition to this I pay some AVCs into the same fund - both contributions are tax deductable.

On top of this I would like to contribute additional AVCs to seperate Pension fund - not run by the company I work for, either a self administered fund or other.
Can I also get the full tax rebate on these contributions ?

thanks

You could contribute to a Standalone AVC PRSA. However in total (your main scheme contributions + your existing AVCs + PRSA AVCs) you can only contribute and get tax refief on contributions uo to a ceratin % of Salary as follows:
under age 30 15%
30 to 39 20%
40 to 49 25%
50 plus 30%

thanks for that,

Just one additional question, the % of salary - is that gross salary ?
Does "salary" include Overtime, bonus etc... as this may change year on year ?
thanks

Gross Salary is the salary as per your P60. Therefore it includes Salary, overtime, Notinal Pay (BIK), Profit share taken as cash etc but does not include deductions for travel (Bus & Train tickets)

Hi

If you have a company pension, but have capacity to make additional AVCs must you use one of the AVC options offered by your employer (ie my employer offers 4 different funds for AVC investments), or can you select any ? (with / without restriction)

Thanks

As Conan says you can contribute to a standalone AVC and get tax relief provided the total amount contributed by you is within revenue limits
