i am curently employed in the public sector (HSE) and would like to retire at 55 I will have 22 yrs service clocked at that stage.
Buying service from the HSE is not an option due to retirement age.
I am considering an avc or prsa avc 2 companies seem to offer this cornmarket and marsh can anybody tell me what the charges are for each I have done a search already but they dont seem to be clearly defined
Don't know about your actual question but you can put a lump sum against last years income and claim tax relief up to 48% before 31/10/2006.
Most life assurance companies do PRSA AVC and AVCs. Check with the trustees of the pension to see if there is a specific company that you must choose. Quinn are probably one of the best for charges approx 1% management fee, with no other fees payable AFAIA
You need to look out for
Brokers or salespersons commissions
• Entry charges
• Transaction charges
• Exit charges
• Encashment penalties
• Fund manager fees for actively managed funds
• Bid / Offer spread
