But obviously it'll just be illustrative, based on certain assumptions, and may not take into account charges that apply etc.

I would expect them to compound in real time/daily. But for an illustrative estimate monthly should suffice. But obviously the results will be based on some assumed (possibly fixed) return rate that may or may not match what eventually actually happens.
Do you have an Excel spreadsheet for this into which people could input their own figures? Sure - it's a bit rough and ready but it can be accessed here. Just make a copy and edit with your own figures. Assumptions and viz are in the first tab and the raw numbers are in the second tab Edit...
