Automatic Cars

Hi

I am thinking of buying an Automatic Car; how would that affect on the insurance?? would it increase it??

Is the insurance on Auto Cars higher than the normal Cars??

My wife has an automatic...made no difference to her insurance.

No difference.

My wife and I both drive automatic cars. A few other things worth mentioning: -

(1) If you pass your driving test in an automatic, you're only licenced to drive one.

(2) They may not cost you more on insurance, but automatic cars tend to use more fuel than their manual equivalents. An auto box will also drain a little of the performance from some cars, especially smaller ones.

If you ever need to hire a car and you only have an automatic licence, it can be difficult finding an automatic.

Drove Auto on hols in states 2 yr ago, came back and bought one.

Never looked back,

Im sure it would have to be a farily decent car however, for the AUto not to be a pain on performance.

Only arguement against is from "drivers" who like the clutch to red line !

Not too mamy opportunity in my day to day to red line so the trade off for comfort for the rest of existance is well worth it.
