I have just changed from outlook express to outlook 2000.
When I typed in an address on a mail in outlook express it prompted the address from my address book. This is not happening with outlook 2000 and it's bugging the crap out of me....can anyone please help?

  • Turn on automatic name checking and completion
  • On the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click E-Mail Options.
  • Click Advanced E-Mail Options.

Is this of any use?

Do you know where I can find it on Outlook 97?
And if I upgrade from 97 to 2000, can i bring all my current emails/contacts/etc over?

Thanks
Stu

It seems that V9 of outlook doesn't have the auto prompt function, what a bummer!
I will have to buy an upgrade. It's not like microsoft to leave bugs in their software so that you have to buy the new version....

I had a look today on an old system and I find it under:

  • Tools
  • Options
  • Click on the sending mail options tab
  • Tick the relevant box (something along the lines suggest names while completing to cc and bcc fields
Actuall, purple this would also need to be ticked on the advanced tab.

That's the problem; there doesn't seem to be a tab to tick!
