Australian Superannuation

Does anyone know if Australian superannuation funds can be transferred to an Irish pension fund? Before I left Australia I was told I could not get these amounts paid to me but noone seemed to know if I could have these transferred into Irish pension funds.

You can cash in what you paid into your superannuation, which is what I did a few years ago. If you know the company that was managing your superannuation it's just a matter of contacting them, completing a form and they should then send you a cheque.
I don't know if you can t/f directly to an Irish pension fund, I suppose you could make an AVC with your Aussie cheque.
