Audible to MP3

Does anyone know how to convert a downloaded audible file to MP3?

The MP3 encoder i have for music files doesn't seem to recognise the format.

I'll have to check later. It's the standard format they use for downloading to the audible manager software.

It's a proprietary format. To convert it, you need to burn it onto a CD then rip it back as an mp3 format. It's a pain, takes time and reduces the sound quality but that's the joys of paying for proprietary formats.
