Auctioneers sitting on bids

Hi there.

I have been looking at buying a house for the last six months but every time I bid on a house, auctioneers dont get back to me. While im not bidding the asking prices, the bids are not entirely off the mark. Does anyone know what tactics / games auctioneers are playing at the moment?? It seems they just sit on the bids and nothing happens.

This has been discussed multiple times before on the site. Knock on the door/drop a letter in if you are getting no joy from the estate agent.
 
Thanks for that, was just wondering what the current situation is like and what peoples experiences have been lately.
