Attic Noises

Okay, so I had an electrician run cabling from my en suite shower, through the attic, down the wall cavity & into my fuse board today.
Now whatever animal is in my attic is literally flinging themselves & the cable all around the attic like something possessed!!
Earlier I was watching tv & jumped off the couch thinking something had fallen over upstairs!
It’s so loud, I’m sleeping on the sofa & wide awake with the fear listening to noises from the attic.
Ive had pest control out several times before who all said there’s no sign of rodents but I’ve birds in the attic. I’ve removed the external fascia & a huge birds nest was indeed behind it..but surely to god this can’t be a bird or a mouse? maybe the new cable has disturbed a rat?
Any suggestions? My nerves are shot to bits..thanks

A bird is much more likely to get stressed by finding itself stuck in the attic and flap around in a panic, just as they do if they fly in a window. A mouse you really won’t hear and even a rat won’t be doing aerobics up there, they’ll just be scurrying around chewing on things which you’ll hear but it doesn’t sound like that’s what you’re describing.

You could buy a wildlife camera today and stick it up there to see what it catches the next time you hear the noise? Will cost less than the repeated pest control visits.

And keep in mind whatever is up there is more afraid of you than you are of it.

Sounds like a bird. Just open curtains/blinds & windows and doors so it has a path to get out. Then open the attic hatch.

I would suspect that the cable run is badly installed. Was it windy last night? If the cable is left hanging in the attic it might swing in windy conditions. This could cause it to bang off the walls in the cavity. This is basically a sound box at would create a fierce racket. I would have a close look at the electricians work in the attic.
