Hi All,
I’m looking for advice on how to effectively insulate the hard to access areas in the attic.
I’ve just finished insulating between the joists with a combination of Thermapitch and Rafterloc (both solid) and now I need to solve the problem of getting some sort of insulation in to the seemingly impossible areas to access. Our roof is a complicated H shape and the ceiling in one section goes up to rafter level (the felt is non breathable throughout).
There are a few small areas (corners etc) that I can not easily reach and can just about shine a torch in to. Ideally I’m looking for something that’s loose and that one could somehow shovel in to these areas with something like a dustpan tied on to a broom handle.
It’s probably too small a job for a specialist company or may be very expensive and I prefer to do this kind of thing myself if at all possible.
So I was wondering if anyone can recommend a loose (chip) type insulation for the job, that can be purchased by the DIYr and have a reasonably good u value.. Or has anyone got any other suggestion re this.
Thanks for your time
Regards
Fran
