Hi all,
I'm looking to install rolls of insulation in my attic. There's a 100mm layer there already but I want to put down another 200mm layer on top of this (perpendicularly).
My house has a double apex roof (looks like 2 inverted 'V's) with a soffit on only one side - the front of the house. When inside the attic, the valley (middle of house) leaves a gap of a few inches where you can see into the next apex.
So, my question is...
From what I understand I need to make sure that I don't block any airflow from the soffit. Am I right to assume that I should also allow air to flow into the apex at the back of the house - under the valley. To do this properly I'd have to cut the insulation at angle the same as the roof and ensure that there is a gap of a few inches so the air can flow into the next apex. Am I right to assume this? Am I making sense??
Cheers,
Agwa
