Assault of a ferry captain

If someone assaulted the captain of a small cross river car ferry in Ireland, while the captain was in command of the ferry, what are the likely charges that could be brought against the person.

Would it be more than 'common assault' if the safety of the passengers, crew and the shp were at risk as a result of the assault, considering the captain was incapacitated?

I'm quite sure that assaulting an airline pilot while they were flying the plane would be pretty serious.

I presume a charge of mutiny would be in order.
