Just reading a couple of messages which have been posted regarding Arnotts. I have been a regular customer of Arnotts for years and couldn't fault them on deliveries especially on furniture. Very recent, I did encounter a very shocking experience with their carpet showrooms. I purchased carpet last year and at the time, fortunate to be able pick up a end- of-roll of extremely high quality carpet which just happened to meet my measurements. I paid in full up front for the piece of carpet, underlay and fitting. As my house was being renovated at the time, they agreed to store the carpet for as long as I needed. Last week I phoned them to book in for the carpet to be delivered and fitted when I was informed that the carpet couldn't be found in the stores and it had been lost. Without going into further detail, I had many disccusions with them and expressed my disgust. I insisted that the carpet be replaced with same or same quality. I was informed by them that they would give me a full refund or I can pay the difference for the same carpet which they had sourced at nearly double the price. I feel they should be responsible in replacing with same at no additional cost.
Need advise badly on this one as I feel I am banging my head against a brick wall.
