Please note the trouble I had with Argos in this message I faxed to VISA. No manager would come to counter, kept sending gophers back and forth. AIB VISA advised me to sort it out myself as their investigations were protracted. Only joy I got was when I emailed ARGOS in England, got no apology or anything.

" I’d like to report an incorrect charge on my credit card that occurred on the 04 Dec 04 attributed to Argos Liffey valley park Clondalkin. I purchased goods with a total value of 50.14 euro (49.99 and 15 cents for a bag) on that day and upon discovery of the goods been defective I brought them back minutes later and received a refund of 49.99 euro ( I kept the bag). These payments were authorized by me and signed for. However the next day I noticed that the statement on my AIB 24 hour online showed both transactions plus an additional debit of 49.99 euro, which I did not authorize or sign for. I called in the next working day 06Dec04 with a print out of transactions from the Internet but an employee called AAA informed me that I needed a credit card statement. I ordered one and only received it on Wednesday 12 Jan 05 last so I brought it in to the argos branch on 12 Jan 05 at around 17:30 and an employee named BBB told me he’d take down my details as a cash manager was not available and they would ring me tomorrow. No phone calls were forth coming so I went in on Thursday 13 Jan 05 at 17:30 and again I was told by an employee called CCC that they would ring me the next day after checking files. No call has come and no correspondence has been forthcoming so I wish to cancel the transaction pending your investigation."
VISA weren't much help either, we really are at mercy of these retailers. Anyone with similar experiences?
