I got a gift of a new Car CD player in early August. The unit was bought in Argos and came with a free fitting voucher. I called the number which claimed to fit throughout the Republic of Ireland either at your home or place of work. When I called there was a recording to say the office was closed for holidays until the 18th of August. I've been without sounds in my car since January so another couple of weeks wasn't going to hurt.
I called back on the 18th of August, the lady took my details and said that it might take about a week as they had a back log from the holidays. I said thats fine and i expected to hear early this week. But nothing!
So I called back yesterday and the lady gave me the fitters number. He asked where I lived and when I said north Co Dublin, he said "oh we wouldn't go out there" I then said I work in Sandyford, and he told me they were very busy and it would probably be 2 weeks by the time they'd get out to me! According to the voucher it must be used within 30 days - that well exceeds the limit. I told him I'd already been waiting 4 weeks and he said i can call out to their base in Tallaght on Sat morning if I wish. That really didn't suit me, so he then told me in a very unhelpful tone, that if I didn't like it I could bring the unit back to Argos for a full refund!
I called the fitting company back and she pretty much said the same! I asked to speak to a manager and she slightly changed her tune and said she'd see what they could do and get back to me. That was yesterday and I still haven't heard!
Where has customer services gone in Ireland? I only have 30 days to bring it back to Argos so I need to bring it back today to get a refund! Raging now!
anyone else have any experience with the fitters that Argos have contracted? Is there any point complaining to Argos?
