Stayed in Argeles a couple of years back in a hotel recommended by my folks - and i can fully pass on their recommendation - Grand Hotel du Golfe - close to the beaches, town centre, lovely owners, excellent value - reckon that you might be struggling to get a booking if you are looking at past 14 July as the French all descend on the beaches for their vacances from then onwards.
