Hi,
My first post so bare with me. I've searched through all posts and can't find an answer.
I'm looking at removing my gas fire and have a quote to remove the flu and reinstate the fire back so we can use again. My questions are
1. Do I need the chimney surveyed to make sure the chimney is still ok.
2. Do I need to get the chimney cleaned and the most important question
3. How do I know the tiles currently on the fireplace are rated for an open fire.
If they are I won't need to replace the whole fire place so it would be an obvious saving of 1200E based on quotes to date.
All advice appreciated.
