Local elections are due in June. Are County Town and Urban Councillors paid?If so how much?Do they get travel & subsistence expenses and how much?Are such expenses vouched for?

Are County Town and Urban Councillors paid?If so how much?

THey get a small salary, I think it is about €16k per annum. They get extra money for certain roles within the council, e.g. chair of a strategic policy comittee.

Do they get travel & subsistence expenses and how much?

Don't think so, though they usually have a travel allowance for attending conferences.

Are such expenses vouched for?

Don't think so.

Maybe you should read this article from the Leinster Leader re monies paid to Councillors in Kildare and I am sure it isn't much different in other counties.
