Are both signatures necessary?

I'm in the process of selling my car and I've just realised my ex boyfriend is a registered owner on my registration certificate. We've been separated for over 2 years and I have always made the repayments on the car as I was the sole driver of it. My question is when I sign the certificate over to the new owner does my ex also have to sign or will my signature alone be enough?

I would say just sign it yourself with BF's name

Nobody checks this crap anyway.
