Will DAFT, propertynews etc be dispalying the now compulsary BER's? WOuld be great if they did!

I'd imagine anyone with a property holding a good BER rating would use it as a selling point in the current climate. I know I will be.

Agree, i'd feel much happier paying a bit more for a nice snug house with a good rating, its probably my most important criteria along with location!
Would be good if DAFT etc showed them though.

I didnt realise BER was a legal requirement until I read this thread, we are thinking of putting our house on the market this year, what type of companies would carry out the rating? will this become part of a building surveyors service? How much would you say it would cost to have your house rated?

I've seen the BER chart on some UK estate agent websites, so I'd say it's only a matter of time before we see them here.

cOOlcarl, I saw an advert in my local paper recently for a BER survey costing €280 + VAT for a house up to 2000 sq ft.
(no connection with the service myself, just saw the advert).

Have a look at www.sei.ie/ber which should answer a lot of your questions.
