April Fool ?: 20m of fake euro coins allegedly smuggled by Lufthansa air hostesses!

I read an article yesterday 1st April 2011 in the Mirror regarding millions of damaged €2 coins which were broken up by the German government (the inner core was popped out) and sold for scrap metal. The coins were reassembled at a remote foundry in China and shipped back to Frankfurt using a network of Lufthansa air hostesses acting as mules!

The article was accompanied by a picture of a rather scruffy €2 euro coin.

AIR hostesses have been accused of smuggling forged euros in a huge global fraud.
The €20million scam was exposed after a Lufthansa hostess was caught with thousands of fake coins in her case at Frankfurt Airport. German police made six arrests.
