I will be 66 next year and am receiving the state pension. When do I need to apply for the Household Benefits Package or must I wait until after my birthday?

have a look down through the details on this link. You won't get the package til you turn 66, but I would apply at least a month or so in advance, given the likely numbers of applications. Fill in FORM HB1 and post to the Sligo office as the link below states.
For a relative one year, I posted in his application in February and his 66th birthday was April, got sorted sometime in april.
