My wife and I are moving back to Ireland, having lived in the UK for the past 14 years (essentially our entire adult lives). We have our own house here, which we would look to sell, and would expect to have ~170k cash from this property sale, given the current market value minus the remainder on the mortgage.
I will be starting work as a teacher in a fixed-term contract, which will hopefully lead to a CID in 2 years. Earning: ~60k
My wife is a dentist, and will again be starting in a new post. Earning: ~95k
What is the timescale for getting accepted for a mortgage? We'd prefer not to have to live with in-laws for too long.
Though Irish, I'm new to the mortgage system, and would like to know where to start. I was told this forum was a decent starting place for advice.
