My husband has had a Ltd painting & dec buisness for the last 10 years and decided with the downturn in construction business to wind the business up and go back to working as a sole trader. He recieved his new C2 in December 2010 fo 2 years which was in the Limited company name, but he returned it and reapplied for another C2 in his own name.
We recieved all the paperwork back in the post this week asking for copy of our mortgage, reciepts for the equipment ( which consists of one paint sprayer that was purchased in his limited company about 7 years previously) and the lease agreement Paperwork for the 10 year old transit van. and we were told that the contract that he was given by the builder was not long enough and the letter that the bulider was not good enough.
What i cant understand is why is all this necessary if he already has tax clearence as he would not have been issued with his C2 in Dec and basically all that is needed is a name change on the C2 as nothing has changed.
Can anyone enlighten us as to getting around this suituation, in all fairness we thought there would be no problem.
This type of bureaucy is only encouraging the black market in this country
