Apartment Flooding

Hi All,

Myself and a friend bought a new apartment in march, we spent a month putting carpets floors etc in, and then we got a letter from the builders saying they needed to let a plumber in to fix some pipes.

The plumber did something wrong and flooded both bedrooms and the hallway outside the bedrooms, wrecking both carpets and the floor in the hall.

That was 7 weeks ago and the carpets and floors havent been replaced even though the builders keep saying they are going to do it.

My question is: Are we entitled to have our mortgage paid, for the last 7 weeks as we havent been able to live there and it was there fault and not ours?

Cheers.

Can't answer the specific question, but make sure the place is fully dried out using heavy duty dehumidifiers before you put down new floor coverings.

The builder's insurance should have been paying for alternative accommodation.
