Hello all,
last year the contents cover of our rented out apartment was 160 euro.Just got the quote today from the broker who phoned,217 euro,a bit of a jump!Cover of 36,000 euro
The contents are insured by RSA.Is there any other Insurance Company who does contents only for rental properties s it might be no harm to get another quote

Andarma, thanks for that.Will ring for a quote.I know that there is a rise in insurance but 30% odd is a bit much in my opinion!

If it's any consolation, net64, my buildings & contents insurance has jumped by a shade under 50% for this year (no claims made)!

Insurers do give good premiums for new business as most companies do and they will often put prices up at renewals. One can then spend every year trying to negotiate a better deal or call your existing provider at renewal and see if they will reduce their premium. Always check the cover you are getting.
