anything interesting or exciting to do on New Years Eve?

Hi

Just wondering if anyone has come up with anything interesting or exciting to do on New Years Eve ? (or the couple of days around it).

I'm not a big fan of New Years as there is always too much hype around it & yet, Im now sitting here wondering what I'll be doing etc.

Options I've discounted include:

* Friends parties
* Sitting at home waiting for midnight, so I can kiss the Mrs2B & go to bed
* Any sort of black tie event

All other suggestions or options will be much appreciated

Is it worth looking at going away (either within Ireland or abroad at this late stage perhaps ?)
