Anything Available for a College student?

Hello

I'm currently living with parents and moving to California in a couple of weeks for college I'm in the process of getting student loans and finding a place to live.

The problem that I'm facing is that I don't think I would have enough money to get a place, pay for school, food and etc.

Are there any special programs available for my situation? something until I get familiar with the area and find a part time job?
 
You seem to be US based so note that Askaboutmoney is an Irish site focusing primarily on Irish personal finance and related matters. I doubt that too many people here will be able to help with this sort of US centric query. Sorry.
 
If you're in the US, then SURELY your parents were saving for your college education throughout your life. If not, then you should get a student loan and also a lot of students work part-time to support themselves so maybe you should be looking for part-time work as well.

Oh, and could you clarify, are you an Irish person living in Ireland who's going to college in the US or are you and your parents American?
