Hi

Am considering trawling through the net to find some cheaper tiles than I have been quoted for here in Ireland.
Just wondering if anyone has been through this process before and how you found it? Any recommended sites would be greatly appreciated.

We imported our marble tiles direct from the quarry in Spain - about 1/3 of the IE price delivered.

PM and I'll send you the details no bother - they're well used to dealing direct.

SSE i too would be interseted in these details..........could you forward please.......thanks

Me to please, just been quoted 33k for our floor so 1/3 cheaper sounds more like it

Hi SSE ..... could you PM those details to me also ...... thanks

Hi SSE. Could you also pm me there details. Thank you.

can you stick the details up on here rather than PM to everyone. I'm sure everyone would be interested in this company and there is no reason why it needs to be kept private once you declare you do not have a connection with the company. (Alternatively PM me the details...:D)

Hi all

Here's the original reply I sent. No connections to the company - but if anyone from Alicante Stone is reading this you know where to send my commission ;)

-----------

It was Alicante Stone, http://www.alicantestone.com/english/index.htm

We got the Crema Marfil P&H with door inserts (instead of saddleboards) of Dark Emparador P&H.

The price was about 40% of the Irish cost for 200m2 (the Empara is WAY more expensive!) at the time. I seem to recall it was about 35/m2 all in.

Alicatante Stone arranged delivery in their price. Bear in mind these crates of tiles are HEAVY so you'll need to put them near where they're going down.

Of more concern, TBH, is whether you have a tiler in hand. We had an excellent fitter (it was his idea to do the dark tile at door thresholds) but he doesn't do "big" projects any more. The Marble tiles are a pig to cut (the Empara just crumbles) and you need to seal it so it's getting on for €30/yd to fit.

Have you tried Right Price Tiles?

I did its now down to 18k from them. Its 240 sq meters in all and the original quote I had was €156 sqm and they gave a big discount.

Waiting to hear back from this crowd but by the sounds of it it will come well under both quotes so far.
