looking up storage heaters online and wondered if these are a better alternative. Any opinions?

Almost any alternative to electric heaters would be better. What are you trying to heat?

Duoheat is a nice new modern looking storage heater, supposed to be more efficient than the combi type heater, the direct heating is done with a panel radiator rather than a convector.
The storage heating bit is the same as before.
They are available here, a little dearer than the regular combi.
I don't think you would notice much difference other than the appearance of the thing.
