I am wondering if anyone has bought in Ayia Napa, Cyprus? I have 60k savings that I would like to put off a property over there but I am looking for any advice from people that have done this.

Personally, I wouldnt but in Ayia Napa itself. Id move along the coast to Protaras

If you are buying in Cyprus, Know and understand the type of title your property has. Title deeds are a huge problem in Cyprus..............Be warned.

Aya Napa, the biggest, loudest disco in the world. Agree with the poster who said to go to Protaras, much more civilised, if a bit soulless.

Issue with title deeds not such a problem in the south, but definitely anyone buying in the north is taking a huge risk, apart from the moral considerations of what can be construed as essentially stealing someone's land!

My main reason for keeping out of Cyprus (I gave it serious consideration as a retirement location, specifically for the generous manner in which it treats people on foreign pensions) is the sheer slog of getting there. It's a long way away for going out for the weekend, or for having friends drop out for a few days.

Believe me when I tell you that title deeds are a problem in the South too.
90% of new property is sold without title deeds.....................
