Never visited but as far as I know, you can only get there from the airport in Santiago de Chile with LAN airlines. That was the way it used to be anyway.

You have to get a flight from Santiago. I think it's an 8 hour flight.
2 or 3 is all you need there. You'll tour the island in a day.
What is there to see? Loads and loads of Moai. They are scattered all over the island. There's a pretty nice beach there too that we went to for a few hours.
People still going around on horseback there. No car insurance. Food is alright, it's not great in Chile either.
I think it was expensive enough to get out there but it is such a remote part of the world and the Moai are amazing to see, so I definitely think it was worth it.
