The Annual General Meeting of Bank of Ireland is on Wednesday 29th April in Belfield at 11 am.

It's a good opportunity to raise the very high mortgage rates being charged by the banks.

To attend you need to be a shareholder. If you are not a shareholder, you need to get a proxy from a shareholder which must be lodged by 11 am on Monday 27th April.

Does anyone know was there mention of Bank of Ireland's SVR at the AGM?

Brian O'Donnell of Gorse Hill seems to have grabbed all the headlines.

Hi Sally

Yes, there is some coverage of the issue in today's papers.

I spoke about the issue - Indo report here
Then I was followed by a borrower Danielle Montgomery (full report and picture in today's Irish Mail)
Then Shane Ross made a very good speech on a range of topics including the SVR.
Various other speakers referred to the high variable rates during their speeches.
Towards the end, another borrower, Tony Lawlor, spoke about his case.
