Just a quick question to find out if anybody has purchased a mobile home in France or Spain? Compared to a traditional stone house or apartment does this sound like a good idea? Is it possible to purchase these on a serviced site and rent it out for the summer months etc. What are the approximate costs involved? Do they appreciate in value etc...
I did think about it but I suppose they depreciate in value...
There's a company that advertises in some of the property newspapers called sunloisir. It might give you an idea:

Also a site (go to "locations" and then "Mobil-Home") which you could use to get an idea of how much you would expect to charge if you were to advertise yourself.
HTH.
I have had a mobile is south of France for two years. Do not view it as an investment, mobiles do depreciate in value. However I do rent it out through the camp site which basically covers annual cost of site, electricity and insurance. So cost of having mobile annually is the depreciation, which isn't bad considering my wife & kids will get six weeks holiday there this year.
