Either I am getting old or my lawnmower is getting blunt. do guys call around to sharpen them any more?

brought mine to the shop that sold it last time, they do repairs and servicing too.
Didn't look like precision engineering, so might just give it a go with a rasp next time, I mean how tough can grass be :)

You can buy sharpening kits in most DIY outlets. Often this is just a grinder bit to atach to a drill. Far from accurate grinding/honing required, so well worth the few Euro investment.

I got mine sharpened ( and fully serviced) recently in Southside Mowers, Mount Merrion - Trees Road beside the park and they did a good job and efficient. Cost 55euro for the lot.

I have a small angle grinder (4" blade) that I put a steel disc into and give the blade of the mower a rub of it anytime it's dulling up. Ask about - probably a neighbour or friend has one you can use for free.
