I am looking for a good value restuarant for a dinner on a week night - that does good prices and food - unfortunately we will not be able to get there before 7.30 pm so most early birds are over

Get a pocket size book called '100 best restaurants' in Dublin ( ithink), and it gives fairly impartial opinions of most eateries, supposedly the 100 best ones!
Its available in most bookshops, Easons, Waterstone etc.
Ive found it useful.
I'd recommend L'Gueuleron in Fade street, D2

I don't think these books are impartial...advertising, sucking up to the authors etc all carry far too much weight with all of these publications.

I like The Winding Stair on the Quays (north), near to the Ha'penny bridge. Nice food, good wine, great service.

i'd think you'd have to specify how much you're looking to pay. one person's good value is extortionate (wouldn't want to use rip-off, clubman ) for another. i've found cafebardeli good value for good food though wasn't as impressed with grafton street version as with georges street. you're talking 12-15e for a main course there, mostly pizza/pasta.
