Any precautions necessary when donating phones to charities.

I have a few old phones that I intend donating to one of the charities who are collecting phones at the moment.

I'm just wondering if there are any precautions that we should take before handing over the phones.

My nervousness has probably come about because of the horror stories we have heard about people getting rid of computers without removing the hard drives.

The only thing that I can think of would be if the directory was stored to the phone memory rather than the SIM memory. Is there anything else that needs to be borne in mind?
