Any info on living in Bweeng (a nice spot in the hill country between Crk and Mallow)

Re: any info on living in bweeng

Bweeng is a nice spot in the hill country between Crk and Mallow ( about half an hour to each) It is in the parish of Kilshannig which has three other villages, Dromahane, Glantane, Lombardstown) The main GAA activity is in Glantane even though there is a ground in Bweeng. In Summer it is lovely with mountain and forest walks but there is no doubt it is a bit isolated in Winter. Thre is a great community spirit in Kilshannig and if you meet people half way you will be allright.
Access to the bright lights of Cork is good by car.

The only info i an can tell you about bweeng is that its in the middle of nowhere. it has one shop and one pub, nothing ever happens there and is Cork's answer to chernoybl.

maybe because no one believes it exists? I certainly don't, despite what my search results tell me.

Re: any info on living in bweeng

You will spend your whole life in the car if you live there. Anyone not from the area who considers buying a house with a view to commuting to Cork city for work/ socialising etc would need their head read.

Used to live in Glantane as a child, parents still there. Been to Bweeng lots of times..... They used to have a great 'sports day' there every year!!!!!
As villages go it is a nice spot, lovely views, and good community. Houses probably a lot cheaper than Cork city too. Almost straight road over the mountain to Cork, via Blarney and no traffic.....
