Any experiences with this log cabin supplier?

Hi folks,

I'm thinking of buying a log cabin from Log Cabins Eire - [broken link removed]
I have no connection with them, I'm just trying to find out if anyone has had any experience with them.

When you ring you end up talking to people from a UK log cabin company - CortneyCo - [broken link removed] but the Irish suppliers seem to be a sawmill in Coolrain, Laois - http://www.gardendeckingfencing.ie/
I assume they just offload the hassle of taking the orders to the UK company.
The prices are good and they do know what they're talking about, but I'd be interested to know if anyone has bought from them or from the Portlaois guys.

I've been looking into this for a few months now and their prices are very good. I don't take that to mean they are cheap, just that most other suppliers are charging too much. But that's a whole other post.
 
Thanks Sue Ellen - done so already. Did a google and a domain lookup to see who the site was registered to. I could always go mad and actually ask them directly!

I've done the rounds on this one - read the key posts here of course, and searched and phoned numerous places. Looked at a good few cabins of course. Reckon I could do a PhD in the bloody things at this stage. I'll post if I find out more.
 
hi, we brought a cecilia and also had their team put the cabin up for us. We spoke with their office in Bangor and the sales man was very helpful. Ordered on the 6th, delivery and install was on the 22nd a Sunday. So far delighted, we did look around for a while before making our decision and really happy with them. Now we are looking for some help on kitting it out for a home office...
 
also just to say we wanted a 70mm and the saleman told us that for our use we did not need 70mm and 44mm would be enough, he was right and saved us €1880 in the process.
 
Thanks for that Bugatti. I'm assuming you went for insulation with the cabin. Did you go for plaster board, or tongue and groove finish on the interior.

In terms of kitting it out for a home office I guess you mean getting power, phone, network out to it?
The foil insulation in the office (if you went with that) may rule out a wireless network. It might also rule out using a cordless phone. You'll have to try them out to see which works better.
A good electrician should be able to sort you out on these and on power.
