Looking to buy some stuff online from CD WOW. Haven't come across any discount vouchers recently which is not normal for them. Is anybody aware of any current promotion discount offers.

McDonalds-buy a Value Meal and receive a €5 CD-WOW voucher as far as I know.

shop around - cd wow not always the cheapest option - try play.com and 101 cd.

Be aware that certain deliveries from Play.com may now be subject to additional tax-discussed elsewhere on AAM.

AFAIK the code had to be submitted before November 30 and an e-voucher would then be sent by email which would be valid till sometime late in December. Not 100% sure but I think Im right.

As BroadbandKen said shop around. If you are looking for DVD's I find this site to be great for finding the best bargains.

For games I use to search for bargains.

Or for a mixture of everything from music to games to films try kelkoo

CD Wow Order History Broken and delivery speed gone to pot?

Anyone else noticed that the Order History has not been updated on CD Wow for over a month?

I have ordered some Xmas pressies twice as a result.

I have emailed them and have got an email saying "due to a high volume of orders, the history is slow to update". This is not entirely correct. The customer support staff inform me that the order history is not working most of the time and this is a known bug that they have been trying to fix for over a month.

To add insult to injury, I ordered two DVDs on 1st Dec which have not been posted nor an email sent re order delay.

This is the last Xmas for me to use CD Wow. It's back to play.com for me.

I had the same problem. If you log on to the .ie domain its away out of date but the .com should show up your entire order history - at least it did for me.
Some of the items I bought were paid for in Euro and some in Sterling but as I said check cdwow.com

I had 2 orders recently which still hadn't been posted (and I was never notified of a delay) and in order not to miss the Xmas delivery I cancelled and ordered elsewhere. In fairness they agreed to that and even sent me 2 new vouchers to replace the 2 I had used with the original orders

Yes ordered via .ie as I had to use this so I could use my Vouchers yet I found recently the Uk version had the very latest information on my order's,status etc. The ie had out of date information.

Got the following reply from them on 15 November when I got no email confirmation of an order:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.

I am pleased to confirm that your order was fully successful and is awaiting dispatch to you with an order number of x

Due to a temporary technical glitch on our site, which is affecting MY ORDERS, it means that you will not be able to successfully track your order status for any orders placed.

Please rest assured that our IT Dept is looking into this and hope to have this problem resolved as soon as possible.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused

In fairness, the order did turn up as have all my orders since.

Re: CD Wow Order History Broken and delivery speed gone to pot?

Well, they seem to have finally had to start telling the truth, because I got a number of emails blaming high volume of orders and claming "slowness" of the orders.

Although I can't find an online dictionary definition of "temporary" which includes the words "for several weeks".

I rang them this morning to inquire as to my missing DVDs - ordered on 1st Dec - and the Cyprus customer support staff informed me that their system is down and they can't check ANY of my details now. Great customer service.

I have just tried the cdwow.com site as per the suggestion below - what a pity that no one from CD Wow thought to tell me that the .com site worked - and am slightly reassured to see that my order was posted on 14th Dec - a full 2 weeks after the order date. So much for being "in stock" on 1st Dec.

All in all, it has been a very unsatisfactory experience for me this year and I will not be using them in 2007.

I too have re-ordered expensive DVD box sets on Play in order to ensure that they arrive before Xmas. I will now have to send back at least one set - at my expense - as I am not prepared to cancel anything this close to Xmas.

I have made a number of orders from CD WOW over the past 2 weeks and everything has arrived promptly.

Beware CD-Wow!

I have made a number of orders from CD WOW over the past 2 weeks and everything has arrived promptly.

Lucky you.

It appears (to me anyway) that CDs are being shipped more quickly than DVDs and that DVD Box sets are being shipped last. Maybe they are trying to save on postage?

After 3 phone calls today I finally got someone who could look at my order history - the site was down the first two times. It appears that when the cdwow.com site says "Despatched" they don't actually mean "Despatched" unless it says "Despatched + Email Sent". "Despatched" without the email bit is a euphemism for "left the warehouse but not actually in the post yet".

So, my two DVD box sets ordered on 1st Dec, whose status says "Despatched" on 17th Dec, are actually sitting somewhere waiting to be posted. I expect them to be posted today - nearly 3 weeks after the order.

I don't hold out much hope for them arriving on time for Xmas.

Interestingly, the customer support staff read me the same lie about high order volumes meaning that the order history was slow to update. Seems like different stories are being told to different people.

On the positive side, they did agree that if the items don't arrive in time, I can post them back for a refund and that they will give me vouchers to offset my return postage. This is fair enough.

It's just the reason I ordered online was not to pay the excessive street prices. Not to mention the hassle of queueing up in town, parking etc. If they had emailed me about the delay in advance I could have ordered them elsewhere.

Re: Beware CD-Wow!

Update: the dispatch date one one item has changed from "14 Dec" with a status of "Despatched" to today's date ("18 Dec") and a status of "Despatched + Email Sent". So much for any hope I had of it arriving by Xmas. How does something take 3 days to go from "Despatched" and waiting to be posted to actually being posted?

The other two items have been updated from 17 Dec Despatched to 18 Dec Despatched + Email Sent.

Very sneaky - use the word "Despatched" to give a false sense of security.

Lesson to all prospective CD Wow customers: Despatched means NOTHING. "Despatched + Email Sent" means posted.

(For comparison, I ordered a 2nd copy of one item yesterday, Sunday, on Play.com; the order status said "Processing" last night and the item was actually posted this morning. Much better.)
