Any bargain hotels in London?

Family treating themselves by going to London for the sales after Christmas, looking for a recommendation for up to date bargain accomodation for family room, 2 adults and 3 kids, central or western London?
 
Have a look on betterbidding.com and hotwire.com. We recently got a good deal on the Hilton, Edgeware Road.
 
I got rooms in the Hilton on lastminute.dom recently for £63. The best deal seemed to be on a night by night basis, only snag was you get them at the lastminute ie the day of the reservation. There were other offers on lastminute as well though.

BTW the Hilton at London Paddington station is a great spot. Its the old railway hotel and its directly linked to the station, so if the kids are into trains and all that then you are bang on. As well as this there are a number of shops, pubs and restaurants in the station building so its all there.
 
Forgot to add - don't be afraid of the "secret hotels" on lastminute.com, they are usually the Hilton etc.
 
Lastminute - secret hotels, just make sure you check hotel details to make sure its close to a Tube. If it does not mention tube then assume it is not close.
 
Agree about the lastminute.com secret hotels - we booked one a while back and it was fantastic, close to the tubes and regents park. Just about everywhere in central london is close to a tube line so I would have no worries about using their secret hotels (70% discount) again.
 
Just make sure you know it is a good hotel. A firend did this and as soon as they walked in the door he knew it was a mistake. The photos on the hotel's web side looked good when he booked, but must have been taken years before. Anyway, "The Boss" decided it was not up to her standards, and he had to find another place, of course at additional cost and no refund from the first :D
 
[broken link removed]near Tower Bridge seems to have very competitive prices, particularly at the weekend when the City is empty. It also gets excellent reviews on Tripadvisor.
 
Apex hotel is very nice alright and a steal at the weekends ... you can get excellent prices there.

While it's in the city and not the west end .. it's still only a 2 minute walk from Tower Hill Tube Station .. and right beside some tourist sights like Tower of London / Tower Bridge

Hi, checked out lastminute.ie and lastminute.co.uk but can't see any sign of Secret Hotels - can you help me find it please?
 
Booked the Russell hotel through 1800hotels earlier in the year and got a great deal. Lovely hotel.
