Another VRT related question

Sorry to add to the list already. This is a practical question...
Once you've amended your car insurance so that you drive the car of your choice from the UK to Ireland.....
Once back, do you just go to the vehicle registration office the next day to declare the VRT in your car....or do you have to make an appointment ?

You can just write them a cheque. You will also need your prsi number.
