Can someone let me know which calc is correct below.

made up figures

Tax free allowance using scsb = 50k
Total Redundancy = 70k
ExGratia = 52K
Statutory = 18k

Is the taxbale amount:

1. 70 - 50 = 20?
2. 52 - 50 = 2?
