Another Consumer Agency ConsumerConnect.ie

It's the same as [broken link removed], www.nca.ie, and [broken link removed].

It's the new body that Minister Martin set up as a result of the Consumer Strategy Group (CSG) Report released last year.

The CSG was set up to report on the supposed "rip-off Ireland" that exists, and the new National Consumer Agency (NCA) is supposed "to ensure that the voice of the Irish consumer is heard."

They will eventually replace a host of consumer focused government organisations, including the ODCA.

They are not yet a statutory body and will not be for some time yet, and they'll be based in (or near) the Ministers own constituency in Cork.

Maybe they'll be better than the Consumers Association of Ireland (who?) in looking after the interests of Irish consumers, but I don't hold out much hope at all.
