Another commuting question - Lucan to Blackrock

Hi,
At the early stages of considering a job in Blackrock.

Does anybody commute to Blackrock from Lucan? How long does it take, what kind of routes do you use? I assume by public transport you'd be going through the city via bus and dart, while by road would be around the M50.

Any thoughts would be welcome.

Quite a trip! I'd say it'll take about 50 minutes driving at least. I think M50 is probably best, although there is a bus service from Ballsbridge / Baggot St. http://www.circlelinebus.com/routes1.php

Thanks for that Deirdra, sounds like it could be a bit of a trip alright, especially since my current commute is a relaxing 12 minutes or so.

Off-peak takes about 30 minutes via the M50.

I would expect peak-time travel to be much longer - even getting from Lucan onto the M50 can take 10-15 mins.

The job is attractive but I'd have to weight up spending an extra 15 hrs a week in the car....which is not attractive.
