I was on annual leave last week and I got covid right as it was beginning. I got a cert from the doctor my employer gave me my annual leave back but said he doesn't have to to pay me the sick pay rate for first days as I got my annual leave back. Is this right?

What you describe is wrong. If you normally get sick pay when you are out you should get that for the days you were sick. Perhaps you were given holiday pay before your holiday so would be paid twice? Maybe ask you boss again or HR? If you ignore that you were on holiday and look at it as if you had just called in sick were you treated the same as fellow workers? I think one of you is missing something from this and another chat might clear it all up.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't get paid for the holidays we get paid monthly so its due this month unfortunately its a small business owner is the HR I had to screen shot him where it says I get my annual leave back if I was sick and provide a medical cert
