Anglo want their money back

Have to admit I'm a little more cheerful tonight knowing that Anglo want their money back from Fitzpatrick.
Apparently he owed 100m at one stage, down now to a mere 70m.

Wanting and getting are 2 different things (as my 5yo son will tell you!)

At least they will hopefully make things a little uncomfortable for him.

Aren't people being sent to prison for unpaid bills. A few decades should suffice...

Seanie now says he is broke

So where did the €70m go?

I am guessing but I think that Seanie wanted some of the same action as his customers, so he might have bought development land which is now worth a lot less than 70m.

I think most of the money went on buying shares in Anglo and the other banks. All now virtually worthless.

I won't be happy until he's homeless.

Don't hold your breath.

He has plenty of assets that are way beyond the reach of the bailiffs. And he has a pension of 200K per annum. There'll be a show of strength from Anglo, they'll give up, there may be a show trial and that'll be the end of it. He'll ride off into the sunset, and probably live out his days in his mansion in Portugal.

Now there's a guy who deserves every insult that's hurled at him.

He should be in jail by now for his role in the misrepresentation in the accounts of the true extent of loans to directors.

He has other interests that may not be readily realisable e.g. oil wells and pension.

Evidently he's getting a crack team of criminal lawyers to represent him.

Hopefully their fees won't be met until his liability to Anglo is.

Some Nigerian oil fields thrown in there also. I wonder did he get an email from a long lost relative's attorney to tell him about them...

:D Nice one!

Apparently a chunk of it went on a casino Macau.

Isn't there supposed to be a limit of 5 million cap on pensions? His seems a bit over that limit.

Perhaps if he is getting 200K per year he could pay off the €70m instalments. Leave him €230 per week to live on like any other pensioner.

.

I must admit this has cheered me up no end. BUT as Slash mentioned I hope this isn't just a farce.
